Accessibility statement

We want everyone to be able to use this site. Here is where it stands against WCAG 2.2 Level AA, what we have done, what still falls short, and how to tell us about a problem.

If any part of this site or our recruitment process is hard for you to use, email faraz@athertalent.com. We reply within 5 business days with a fix or another way to do the same thing.

1. Our commitment

AtherTalent is a recruitment firm. Barriers on a recruitment site keep people out of jobs, so accessibility is part of doing the work properly, not a courtesy. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, and to make the recruitment process accessible off the site as well.

2. Conformance status

This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform. The pages we control are built to meet Level AA, and the items in section 4 are the known exceptions. This is a self-assessment by the founder using manual checks and browser tools, not an audit by an outside specialist.

3. What we have done

  • Semantic HTML: one heading level 1 per page, headings in order, landmarks for the header, navigation, main content and footer, and lists and tables marked up as such.
  • A skip link to the main content at the top of every page.
  • Everything works with a keyboard alone, including the menu, tabs and expanding sections, and focus moves in reading order.
  • A visible focus indicator on every link, button and field.
  • Text contrast of at least 4.5:1 against its background in both the light and dark theme. The site follows your device's theme setting.
  • Every form field has a visible label, required fields are marked, and validation messages name the field that needs attention.
  • No autoplaying video, audio or carousels. The small entrance animations are switched off when your device asks for reduced motion.
  • Fonts are self-hosted with system fallbacks. Text can be enlarged to 200% without losing content, and pages reflow to a single column on narrow screens.
  • Images carry text alternatives or are marked decorative.
  • Touch targets meet the 24 by 24 pixel minimum. Links are underlined, not distinguished by colour alone.
  • Minimal JavaScript. The content of every page is readable without it.

4. Known limitations

  • Mobile menu without JavaScript. On narrow screens the menu button needs JavaScript. Without it, the navigation is not shown on small screens, though the footer links reach every page. We are working on a fallback that needs no script.
  • PDF attachments from third parties. CVs, client documents and certificates we exchange by email are produced by others and are often not tagged for screen readers. If you receive a document from us that you cannot read, ask and we will provide the content as accessible text.
  • Calendly. Booking links open Calendly's own site, which we do not control. If it is not usable for you, email us and we will book by email.
  • External links to LinkedIn, the AIHR certificate validator, regulators and legislation are outside our control.

5. Our recruitment process

Accessibility does not stop at the website. You can ask for an adjustment at any stage: a different format or more time for a skills screen, interviews by phone, by video with captions, or in writing, and materials in the format you need. The equal opportunity statement explains how to ask and how requests are handled.

6. Technologies relied on

This site is built with HTML, CSS and a small amount of JavaScript for the mobile menu, tabs and in-page navigation. It uses no frameworks and loads no third-party scripts. It is designed to work with current browsers, with keyboard-only navigation and with screen readers. We check each page by hand: keyboard only, 200% zoom, contrast, and browser accessibility tools.

7. Feedback and contact

Email faraz@athertalent.com or use the contact page. It helps if you tell us the page address, what went wrong, and any assistive technology you were using. We reply within 5 business days, and we fix what we can in the next update to the site.

8. Review

We review this statement with every significant change to the site and at least every six months. This version was prepared on 8 September 2026. Next review 8 March 2027.
